OVER THE HILL, UNDER THE COVERS?
Following on from my work with Dr Sharron Hinchliff on both the Portraits of a Menopause and The Sexual Rights Charter, media company Joi Polloi, approached me to see if I would be interested in producing a set of 10 illustrations for an exhibition called “Over the hill, under the covers?” which would be featured in the Millennium Gallery, Sheffield, as part of The Festival of Mind 2022.
The brief was to create illustrations that represented the roller coaster that can be sexual health for older adults, the highs and lows of sexuality as we age and the barriers that perpetuate stigma. I took a 6 hour train journey to see this work in action, which was well worth it because the gallery was incredible and the staff were beyond kind.
